With the support of Kate Spade New York’s on purpose Fund, MindLeaps was able to launch a pilot program in Masoro, in the Rulindo District of the Northern Province.

30 youth from the Masoro community participated in an intensive Train the Trainer program to learn MindLeaps’ methodology, equipping them to co-build and sustain the MindLeaps program to promote the well-being of young people in Masoro. It was impressive how quickly the trainees grasped the MindLeaps approach to working with children.

MindLeaps was thrilled to employ the top 8 among the 30 trainees to run the MindLeaps dance program for 100 children from the Masoro community. The 8 new trainers have already started working with the children, and MindLeaps is eagerly looking ahead to seeing mental health and academic improvement for these 100 children.

The on purpose Fund investment has provided an invaluable opportunity. Apart from the MindLeaps dance program in all six refugee camps in Rwanda, the Masoro program is MindLeaps’ second geographic expansion in Rwanda.
